 Battle of the Books: Attending Battle of the Books at the age of ten. It gave me a chance to experience independence. I overcame several fears; such as being on my own, making new friends and competing. Battle of the Books is a competition you compete with your knowledge after reading 20 issued books against several other schools; because of this competition, I got to experience true teamwork, competition, and a stronger passion for literacy. My love for reading opened an opportunity that would reflect on me for ages to come.
